His Voice is a Person

Genesis 1:1-4

The Creation of the World

[1] In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. [2] The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

[3] And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. [4] And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.

John 1:1-5

The Word Became Flesh

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. [4] In him was life, and the life was the light of men. [5] The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

What does these two Bible verses have in common?

We see that in the beginning, the Trinity was present. God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit. We see the Spirit hovering over the face of the deep and the Father speaking His word to create light. When He spoke, the Words created the world.

Fast forward to what Apostle John said about the Word being with God from the beginning. And how without the Word nothing would have been made. The first thing God created was light. And John also said in Him was life and the life was the light of men.

Do you see the similarities here?

Look at this

John 1:14

[14] And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. The Word became flesh! This is the same word from the beginning. Who do you think this Word is?

I think it’s Jesus Christ. Our Lord and personal savior.

What I’ve learned from these verses is that

  1. God created the world with the Word, which is Jesus. And because I have Him in my heart and life, by speaking His Word, I create the world I want to live in. I redefine my world by His Word.

  2. That the Word is light. By imbibing the Word and consistently meditating on it, I carry the light everywhere I go. I influence my world with the light of the Word. And darkness cannot overcome me.

What have you learned from this and how do we show forth our light for men to see and give glory to our Father in heaven?

Have an amazing weekend everyone!

Abiding in the words (Jesus) of God can make one powerful and also as written in the book of John 15:7 “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” This simply means we can wish all good things to ourselves and the lord will do it for us since we’ve abide in His word. Hence, we can create a life (world) for ourselves through His world.
