Riddles Friday

A riddle is a statement, question or phrase having a double or veiled meaning, put forth as a puzzle to be solved. Riddles are of two types: enigmas, which are problems generally expressed in metaphorical or allegorical language that require ingenuity and careful thinking for their solution, and conundra, which are questions relying for their effects on punning in either the question or the answer.

Today I want us to have some fun. You have 10 seconds to answer all these riddles. Post the ones you got right in the comment section. And no cheating by googling either. Let your smart friends help you. Lol

  1. Two mums and two daughters went out for dinner, and each ate one portion. Only three portions were eaten in total, how is this possible?

  2. You walk into a room with a rabbit holding a carrot, a pig eating slop, and a chimp holding a banana. Which animal in the room is the smartest?

  3. A man is trapped in a room. The room has only two possible exits: two doors. Through the first door, there is a room constructed from magnifying glass. The blazing hot sun instantly fries anything or anyone that enters. Through the second door, there is a fire-breathing dragon. How does the man escape?

  4. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him underwater for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner. How can this be?

  5. A man and a dog were going down the street. The man rode, yet walked. What was the dog’s name?

  6. How would I draw a line, then make it longer without touching it?

  7. I am taken from a mine, and shut up in a wooden case, from which I am never released; yet I am used by almost everybody. What am I?

  8. A man rode into town on Tuesday and left two days later on Tuesday. How so?

  9. Mr. Brown was killed on Sunday afternoon. His wife said she was reading a book at the time. The butler said he was taking a shower. The chef said he was making breakfast. The maid said she was folding clothes, and the gardener said he was planting tomatoes. Who did it?

  10. What breaks yet never falls, and what falls yet never breaks?

How many of these did you get right? Kindly share with your friends and check out their answers.

Have a fun-filled weekend ahead.
